For many travellers India is often seen as a difficult place to travel through, and heading there on a gap year often comes with a strict set of rules to keep you safe and away from harm, but sometimes those expectations can become a self fulfilling prophecy and keep a traveller away from experiencing the real India, and sometimes to get to the heart of the country and the culture you have to break away from those rules.
