Welcome to the Bemused Backpacker Travel Clinic and thank you for your interest.
To get started with your consultation, I just need to ask you to fill in this pre assessment questionnaire. No payment is necessary at this stage.
This questionnaire will just help me get a better picture of your medical history, where you want to go, how long for, what you want to do when you get there and what health considerations you need to take into account both before you go and when you are on the road.
The Travel Clinic can advise you on a range of issues from pre health checks, what vaccinations you will need to get for your trip and if you will need antimalarial medication for your trip as well as thorough advice and information on everything from malaria and dengue fever to vaccination requirements, and can answer any specific health related questions you may have.
Given the nature of health related issues not everything can be covered in an online consultation and if that is the case and I can’t help you then I will let you know, I will try and point you in the right direction of where you can get the best help, and you won’t have to pay a penny.
If you have pre existing conditions or health implications that can best be dealt with on a one to one basis or will need further tests or more detailed examinations by your GP or travel nurse, then I will do my best to point you in the right direction instead. This isn’t anything to worry about, I just want to make sure you get the best advice from the best source, and if that isn’t me then I won’t take it personally.
If I can help you, and if I think you can benefit from my Travel Clinic package, then I will send you payment details and arrange an appointment time with you.
All information is completely confidential and will not be used for any other purpose than the service provided, and will not be kept or stored in any way after the consultation.
The information provided by the travel clinic is here for general travel health advice and information only. If physical examinations are required it is not a replacement for a personal consultation with a travel nurse specialist, your GP or a doctor specialising in travel medicine. This advice is based on current guidelines and given by a qualified nurse, but you will still need to make a physical appointment with your GP or travel nurse specialist to obtain any vaccinations or medications and responsibility for the prescribing and dispensing of any vaccination or medication lies with them. Advice on which vaccinations or antimalarial prophylaxis is based on national guidelines and this website can accept no responsibility for negative effects of any vaccination or prophylaxis. Dependent on the nature of your medical history and the information you supply, an online consultation may not be the best fit for you and in those circumstances I will point you to your own GP or nurse specialist who will have full access to your medical history and will be able to perform a range of observations and tests that could supplement or inform any advice given. This website cannot accept any responsibility for any use or misuse of the general advice given.
