I went to Egypt in March and did not enjoy it at all. We decided to stay in Cairo this time as well as Sinai and I was glad to leave and get some peace and quiet. With the constant honking and blaring of horns from the cars there was just no let up and this is not the vacation I dreamed of. You will be harrassed constantly, people constantly trying to get more money out of you, people lying to you. I will not go back and wouldn’t recommend it.

    • Sorry Egypt didn’t live up to your expectations Norman, and I agree that the traffic can be noisy as hell it is hardly a reason to hate the place, in fact it can be part of its charm, and I certainly don’t think it is fair to say you will be constantly harrassed or scammed. Yes Cairo – and Egypt – isn’t perfect and has its problems but the good outweighs the bad by a metric ton. Some people just don’t gel with some destinations and that is okay, but I love Egypt, think the problems are easily manageable and will definitely recommend it to as many people as possible.
