Craghoppers Packing Cube

Packing cubes have really exploded in popularity over the last few years, and for good reason. The Craghoppers packing cube is a well made, roomy and versatile piece of kit that can really help you organise your stuff inside your backpack.

Packing cubes are ideal for organising your pack into logical, neat blocks so that you can keep everything together and find them quickly exactly when you need them. Ideal for when you are fumbling about in a dim hostel late at night or when you need something quickly.

The Craghoppers packing cube is a solidly made but lightweight piece of kit and comes in two different sizes depending on whether you want to organise clothes or smaller items.  It has a three sided zip opening with two zips so you can completely open it up, which is handy when you need to pack clothes neatly, and a mesh cover so you can see which cube contains your T Shirts and which one contains your shorts without opening each and every one. It really seems like such an obvious thing, but it is surprising how often little touches like this are overlooked.

My packing cube came i really useful on my last trip in more ways than one. I obviously used it for organising my kit during transit, but thanks to the useful carry handle at the top, I also used it as a handy small bag to carry my stuff down to the shower (the handle doubled as a hook to hang it up while I was in there) and carry my trunks and towel down to the pool and gym area depending on where I was staying at the time. I told you it was a versatile piece of kit!

Obviously packing cubes are not an essential must have on your gap year adventures, but they do make things a lot more convenient and easy and are worth the investment.
